Biogen-MIT Biotech in Action Global: Virtual Educator Seminar
This seminar is to train educators on our four Biotech In Action: Global modules. The seminar will be taught in English, Spanish and Portuguese. The seminar will be one hour long and you will learn how we teach each of the following modules below. Plus you will be given all the materials you need to teach them in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.

1. Biotechnology and Alzheimer’s: This presentation will explore what it means to be a biotechnology company. We will discuss the of making medicines to treat neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s, one of Biogen’s main focuses.

2. Careers in Biotech: This presentation will dive into the different career fields that make up a successful biotechnology company. During this presentation, you will get a chance to learn about all of these different careers.

3. Healthy Climate, Healthy Lives: This presentation will explore climate change and how it is connected with human health. We will discuss what climate change is, its impact on human health, and what we can do in our communities to protect ourselves from the impact on our health.

4. Invention in Biotech: In this presentation, students will get the opportunity to learn about the ways scientists and others at companies like Biogen and at universities like MIT use science and technology to help people across the globe. We will explore ways the biotechnology industry come to understand the problems people face in their daily lives and develop technological solutions that are novel, useful and unique (i.e., an invention!).
